Year 5 had a fantastic, albeit damp, day in Southport taking part in a heritage trail looking for Victorian buildings, monuments and architecture – such as The Atkison, promenade carousel, lifeboat memorial and, of course, the Queen Victoria statue!

Year 5 were joined by Sue Latimer, a local historian, who shared her expert knowledge with the children.

In the afternoon, they visited the Atkinson museum and learnt lots more about the history of Southport.
