Medical Conditions
If your child has a medical condition that we need to know about, please inform us as soon as possible. If your child requires an inhaler or any other medication, please ensure that it has been returned to school and is not out of date.
Reading
We love reading in Year 3! Please ensure that your child keeps their reading book and record in their bag so that they are accessible at any time throughout the week.
We encourage all children to read for around 20 minutes each night. This can be independently or to an adult. In the classroom we will be reading each day to our friends and teachers.
Reading books will be changed on a Monday morning each week.
Timestables
Children will be practising their timetables as part of their curriculum in school. Please try to also practise them at home. We will be using Times Table Rockstars in school which can also be accessed at home too. Your child's login will be provided inside their reading record.
Spelling
Spellings will be given out each half term. Please try to practise them as often as possible.
Spelling tests will take place on a Monday.
P.E
P.E will be every Thursday. Please send your child into school dressed in their P.E kits and with a bottle of water. In colder weather it is permitted to wear black jogging bottoms/ leggings. Please remember to wear a plain white t-shirt and a school jumper/cardigan. No hoodies please.
Year 3 will be going swimming on Thursdays for 8 weeks beginning in May. A letter will be sent home with more information about the lessons nearer the time. Swimming caps can be bought from the school office for £2. A reminder that no jewellery is permitted when swimmming (including earrings).
