Salvation Army Brass Band

We were delighted to welcome Southport’s Salvation Army Brass Band into school for a very special assembly.

Led by Mr Johnson – who used to be in charge of Mr Thomson – the band played several songs for us to enjoy and join in with including ‘The Bare Necessities’ and ‘When the Saints go Marching In’.

They also taught us about the different instruments including cornets, tenor horns, euphoniums and tubas!

Belle in Year 5 attends brass lessons with the Salvation Army and joined in with the band as they played their songs!
