Class: Year 4 Year: 2020 - 2021

We have been looking at what the digestive system is. We started by discussing what the digestive system is and looking at the different organs that make up the digestive system. Then, we identified each of their functions. In order for us to fully understand the functions and purpose of the digestive system in our bodies, we carried out a demonstration. 

We used multiple materials: tights, see-through bag, paper cups, orange juice and Weetabix. Lots of the children volunteered without fully knowing what they were letting themselves in for! Thank you to our volunteers: Ben, Benjamin, Sienna, Ben and Demi. Demi read the instructions and directed the children to what they needed to do.  The other children got stuck in and carried out the demonstration. We talked throughout about the different organs and their functions and the children enjoyed every part of it - even the end!
