Our learning this half term
This half term in English we will be explorig the novel 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes and Chris Mould. The children will be writing their own narrative. In Maths, we begin to look at Place Value focussing on numbers upto 1000 and then we will move on to Addition and Subtraction, building on our skills from Year 2 to be able to use column methods more confidently. In Science, we will be learning all about rocks and soils throughout the whole of the Autumn term.
Contact details
Dojo remains our main method of communication. Please ensure that you are signed up for regular updates, photos and information and please don't hesitate to send a message if you have any questions.
Medical Conditions
If your child has a medical condition that we need to know about or needs to take medication, please inform us as soon as possible. A medical form will need to be completed from Mrs Bond in the office.
Reading
We love reading in Year 3! Please ensure that your child keeps their reading book and record in their bag so that they are accessible at any time throughout the week.
We encourage all children to read for around 20 minutes each night. This can be done independently or to an adult. In the classroom we will be reading each day to ourselves, our friends and our teachers.
Reading books will be changed on a Wednesday morning each week.
