Our Year 3 Team 

Teachers: Mrs Fraser will be teaching Monday to Thursday. Mrs Guest and Mrs Lawson will be teaching on Fridays.

Our learning this half term

Dojo remains our main method of communication. Please ensure that you are signed up for regular updates, photos and information and please don't hesitate to send a message if you have any questions.

Medical Conditions

If your child has a medical condition that we need to know about or needs to take medication, please inform us as soon as possible. A medical form will need to be completed from Mrs Bond in the office. 

Reading

We love reading in Year 3! Please ensure that your child keeps their reading book and record in their bag so that they are accessible at any time throughout the week.

We encourage all children to read for around 20 minutes each night. This can be done independently or to an adult. In the classroom we will be reading each day to ourselves, our friends and our teachers. 

Reading books will be changed on a Wednesday morning each week.

Timestables

Children will be practising their timetables as part of their curriculum in school. Please try to also practise them at home. We will be using Times Table Rockstars in school which can also be accessed at home too. Your child's login will be provided inside their reading record. In school, we also use Hit the Button on Top Marks to practise times tables and other areas of maths.

Spelling

Spellings will be given out each half term. Please try to practise them as often as possible. Please see the PDF attached in the files below to have a go at practising spellings in different ways.

Spelling tests will take place on a Wednesday.

P.E 

P.E will be every Friday Please send your child into school dressed in their P.E kits and with a bottle of water. In colder weather it is permitted to wear black jogging bottoms/ leggings. Please remember to wear a plain, white t-shirt and a school jumper/cardigan. No hoodies please. 

In the Summer term, Year 3 will now be going swimming on a Thursday.  Swimming caps can be bought from the school office for £2. A reminder that no jewellery is permitted when swimming (including earrings). 

Please note that whilst Year 3 are swimming on a Thursday afternoon, they will also still have PE on a Thursday too.
