School Council

Our Work

Each year we nominate two representative from each year group, from Year 2 to Year 6, to share the views and ideas of our classes.

Being on the School Council gives us the opportunity to discuss and make decisions about issues that affect us, our class and our School, so we all have a part in making our School and Community a better place.

This year .....

We have been given a buddy bench by the charity Jack's Journey and have spent time talking to our classes about how we can use it.

We have  raised £80  for Children in Need by selling teddy toast and juice.

We did a quiz at Christmas where pupils had to pay 50p to guess who the teacher was when they were younger!

We have prepared and done an assembly for the whole school about our 'Odd Shoes Day' on Friday 10th February. We took the money raised to Queenscourt Hospice. See below for our pictures.

We will be raising money for Comic Relief on Friday 24th March when we will be holding a Talent Show for the school. Only two acts will be chosen per class - so get practising now!

Community Project

Through the SLP members of school council have the chance to take part in a community project with other schools. Here are some of our projects in the past.

In 2013 and 2014 we looked at links with the elderly and developed memory boxes for them.

Last year we  supported Library in the Gardens as part of our Community Project and raised money in a variety of ways including a photo quiz for this cause.

This year we are going to be looking at how we can raise the profile of Botanic Gardens and get more members of the community using it for health, fitness and fun!
